Hardwood Floor Repair

Call Now (774) 221-6120

Like many flooring types, wood floors become damaged and worn over time and require repair. Wood floor fixes can range from simple fixes to complex restoration projects. We can help with them all.  Below is a snapshot of the different repair services we offer.

Repairs for Scratches & Gouges

Scratches and gouges are the most common type of damage that occurs to real wood floors. This damage is often caused by pets, furniture that is being moved, heavy foot traffic, and heavy objects that get dropped. A scratch, gouge, or blemish in the wood can be unsightly and detract from the beauty of your floor and room. These damages can also worsen if left unrepaired as dirt, debris, and spills tend to settle in these areas and become hard to clean.

Our team will assess the damages and recommend the best course of action for your floors.  Depending on the severity of the damage, we may use a wood filler, sand, and refinish a specific area, or in some cases, we may need to replace the damaged board(s) altogether.

Repairs For Water Damage

Water damage is a serious issue that can cause hardwood floors to warp, buckle, and rot. Water damage is often caused by leaks, flooding, or spills that are not promptly cleaned up.  If you notice water damage, give us a call right away.  Our team will assess the extent of the damage and advise you on the best course of action for resolution.  Depending on the severity of the damage, a dehumidifier may be required to dry out the affected area.  Other solutions include replacing damaged boards and sanding and refinishing the area involved.

Repairs for Cupping & Crowning

Cupping and crowning are common issues that can occur with wood flooring. Cupping is when the edges of the boards are higher than the center, and crowning is when the center of the board is higher than the edges. These issues are often caused by moisture imbalances in the wood.  We will first assess the cause of the cupping or crowning in your hardwood flooring. Depending on the severity of the issue, we may use a moisture meter to assess the moisture levels in the wood,  replace the damaged boards, or sand and refinish the entire floor.

Repairs For Buckling and Warping

Buckling and warping are serious issues that can occur. Buckling is when the floorboards pull away from the subfloor, and warping is when the boards become curved or twisted. These issues are often caused by moisture imbalances in the wood or subfloor.  Should you see these issues occurring, give us a call straight away.  Depending on the severity of the issue, we may need to remove the affected boards and replace them, fix the subfloor, or sand and refinish the entire floor.
